Despite the efforts of paramedics and emergency services, a man has died following a car crash south of Bermagui.

About 2.40pm Tuesday, June 11, a Mazda Tribute was travelling north on Bermagui-Tathra Road, Wapengo, when it left the road and crashed into trees.
The driver and sole occupant, a 76-year-old man, was trapped in the car for a short time before being released and conveyed by ambulance from the scene.
It was understood the man had extensive face and head injuries.
He was driven to Dickinson Oval in Bermagui where the Toll Air Ambulance arrived at 4.15pm to transport the driver to hospital.
However, paramedics worked to save the man at Bermagui but despite medical efforts, the man died about 5.45pm.
Officers from South Coast Police District have started an investigation and any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam vision, is urged to contact police.
